Emo kids under attack in Mexico
March 27, 2008This is kind of sad actually - kind of reminds me of the skinheads vs. headbangers conflicts in the 80’s, except emo kids are usually very vulnerable to bullying.

Vs.
It’s the victory of ugliness. And I don’t mean physical ugliness, I mean that ugliness of the soul that not only hates itself but hates anyone and everything that’s even the slightest bit further out of the human gutter then it is. There are personalities, empty of soul, rotten to the core, that simply cannot cope with life in any other way then by domineering others. They start out life as bullies, then grow into glorious, single-minded thughood. Sometimes they actually become criminals. The more ambitious ones become authority figures. Some can even become president of the United States.
Occasionally, they find it necessary, amusing even, to beat the crap out of someone, preferably someone who isn’t bothering them in the least. It’s not that they have contempt for their victims, though their contempt is bottomless. It’s that they don’t want to live in a world where people are safe from aggression. Even themselves. Because in that world, there is no place for them. So they attack essentially defenseless people, and either their victims are sufficiently cowed, or they get a violent response back, and then the world becomes a little smaller, a little meaner, a little more violent. Even when the gutter is beaten back, it wins, because it gets out of that the world it wants, the world it knows how to live in.
